Winston Churchill is reputed to have said “The gin and tonic has saved more Englishmen’s lives, and minds, than all the doctors in the Empire.” With the surge in small, handcrafted gin distilleries, the country is in that way, at least, in good health! This is a fine London Dry Gin. It’s crafted from juniper at its base, with the addition of 16 other botanicals – you may well be able to pick them out in the aroma. They include coriander, orris and liquorice root, angelica, cassia bark, cinnamon, dried lemon and dried orange peel, plus the fresh zest of lemon, orange, lime, white and pink grapefruits, clementine and pomelo, each cold distilled. Note the Times Lion on the label, resting on juniper branches. Ideal for G&T or cocktails.
