Vibrant new vintage of this New Zealand Sauvignon from an award winning family winery in Marlborough and one of the pioneers of the region. Recent vintages have garnered enormous praise and enthusiasm – “the most scrumdelicious SB to pass our lips” for one. The wine also gained 90 points last year from Wine Orbit, and is always great value. Phil and Chris Rose founded the estate in 1978, first as growers, then adding a winery a decade or so later. Their five children have now joined them, so it’s very much a family affair. Exuberant grapefruit and grassy nettle character with a bright citrus zip – this has all the usual Marlborough pizzazz and more. It’s very moreish solo or with all sorts of seafood, spicy stir-fry or Thai fish cakes.
