Da Maggio is a bright, modern style of Chardonnay with an appetising balance of freshness, ripeness and zip. It’s from Romagna, across the Appenines from Tuscany, close to the cooling Adriatic coast. There lies Poderi dal Nespoli, a modern, environmentally conscious winery in the beautiful Bidente Valley. This estate was founded in 1929 by Attilio Ravaioli, and the fourth generation are now at the helm. They own 110 hectares of the valley and follow each wine from bud break to bottle. The cellar itself is an impressive, modern structure, designed to be gentle on the environment, too. As well as using cutting edge technology, they also employ traditions passed down through the generations. Serve solo, or with seafood or chicken dishes.
