Meet Alan Kennett's The Premium – the Super Stumper, as we've begun to call it! It was Tony Laithwaite who, on tasting The Black Stump Reserve, said to Alan, "just how good can this wine be?" And so began the challenge for Alan to make the very best Durif the world has ever seen. It's a bit of a treat for Alan to make such a small batch red – so small, every bottle is numbered. Very little Durif is grown in Oz – it's less than 1% of plantings – and Alan takes a lot of it for our much-loved regular Black Stump that customers adore. So, for The Premium, he picks 'the eyes out of the crop' - uses the very best and gives it top treatment. This is a rich, exotic, well-spiced red, best after a few months-plus ageing. Open early and decant.
