Moulin de Pontfract Rosé 2016

Var IGP

Delicious rosé with real star quality from Provence, the epicentre of luxury pinks. It's from Monsieur Paul's 300 year old family estate, Domaine de Pontfract. A bountiful year means a portion is labelled Var not Côtes de Provence and is top value.

Provence is synonymous with film star glitterati, sunshine and delicate hued rosés many regard as the best in the world. Moulin de Pontfract is from Monsieur Paul's ancient family estate that lies in the superb Côtes de Provence. Quality was both outstanding in 2016 as well as plentiful, so the small portion of grapes over quota has been labelled Var. The same old vine, estate grown fruit is used – both Grenache and Cinsault that thrive in the chalky stone soils and the ample sunshine. The estate boasts a wonderful amphitheatre shaped plot, so the grapes ripen to perfection, whilst still retaining freshness and aroma. This is a charming rosé with strawberry aromas and a savoury mineral edge. Enjoy on its own or with chicken or seafood.
