50th anniversary special – perfectly cellared mature Bordeaux showcase
We’ve shared some golden Bordeaux vintages over the last 50 years. Revisit eight favourites with this showcase of mature clarets from our best-loved producers. We go back to 2002 with Château Cardinal-Villemaurine, a Grand Cru Saint-Emilion of remarkable finesse. Two 2008s next – a soft, plummy Graves and the more robust, gold medal-winning Château Ramage La Batisse. Taste why 2010 is considered the vintage of a lifetime with Château Pericou, then enjoy two ‘sleeper’ vintages in Château Les Trois Manoirs 2012 and Château Blaignan 2013. Then, from 2014’s “wonderfully structured and fresh reds” (Wine Enthusiast) you have Gold medallists Le Grand Chai and La Barrique (made from grapes grown in Pomerol, Margaux, Pauillac and Saint-Emilion).
