Jean-Marc Diffonty is the fourth generation at his family estate and one of Châteauneuf’s most exciting winemakers. His wines have won much praise from Robert Parker and La Revue du Vin de France, which writes of his wines’ “tremendous distinction”.

Critic Robert Parker has written enthusiastically of the “powerful, rich, in your face style of wine” made at the Diffontys’ centuries old Châteaunef estate. And Manus Dei, the property’s smart second wine (just below Château Sixtine itself) is truly delectable. At the start of the 20th century the family owned just two hectares of vines, but have gradually built up their holdings and even gained the blessing of the Pope! Jean-Marc is an ambitious winemaker, innovative and creative. This latest cuvée is a carefully crafted blend of traditional grapes from the estate’s mature, low yielding vineyards. Meticulously vinified and aged in oak, the wine is best decanted an hour beforehand. Serve with roast lamb, game or a classic ratatouille.

"Dark fig, blackberry and boysenberry allied to a strong, racy graphite spine. Shows plenty of heft" Wine Spectator
