Wine Advocate’s Neal Martin was full of praise for this third generation family producer when he recently visited the cellar: “Drouhin continues to demonstrate what a class act they have become.” Maison Drouhin was founded 130 years ago and is now run by the four grandchildren of the original owner. Their magnificent portfolio extends from Chablis in the north to the Côte Chalonaise. They are firm believers in organic and biodynamic viticulture, just part of the meticulous attention to detail they devote to their whole range, from villages to Grand Cru. Their Saint Aubin Premier Cru is pure delight – from between the two Montrachet villages, it is steely fresh, but just beginning to unfurl its gorgeous ripe fruit and layers of complexity.
