Vibrantly fresh Sauvignon Blanc from the Kiwi capital for this grape, Marlborough. Not only that, it's from the pioneering Rose family, who, in 1978, were one of the first to plant vines there. Brilliant gooseberry flavours and refreshing zip.

Mahau Sound is a deliciously fresh Sauvignon Blanc, as you’d expect from this exciting family estate. Phil and Chris planted the first vines in 1978, first supplying grapes to Montana, then a few years later they built a winery and started bottling their own wine. Today, their son Sam is winemaker and nearly every other aspect is family run. This is very much a quality focussed estate, both in the vineyard and cellar. Their brilliant 2016 is named after the scenic spit of land on the very northern tip of the South Island that serves as an idyllic retreat (post is delivered by boat and there’s no power unless you have a generator!) and is perfect for a spot of fishing. No surprise this wine is tops with seafood. Enjoy too with spicy noodles.
