Rich, silky Rioja from a winemaking family who have been honing their skills for the last two centuries. Premium grapes from high altitude vineyards, plus six months in finest oak barrels ensure lush ripe fruit tempered by oaky complexity.
"Beautiful, old-style Rioja. Classic oaked Rioja flavours and a lovely length on the palate"
Online Review For the 2018 vintage
For an easy going, elegant red with silky fruit and plenty of character, this gently oaked Tempranillo hits the mark, bang on target. There is just the right balance of ripe berry notes and oaky richness. It’s the work of brothers David and Victor Manzanos, who learned to make fine Rioja from their father. When he died, the boys, still in their early 20s, quickly stepped up to the mark and have taken quality even higher. This supple Tempranillo uses well ripened grapes from the family’s highest vineyards, while the wine was aged for six months in French oak, and the rest in bottle. From a superb vintage enhanced by the brothers’ expertise, this tasty Tempranillo is spot on as a tasty glass solo or with tapas, paella, or vegetable kebabs.
