Handcrafted ale is gaining a new lease of life in the UK and Gunner’s Gold is leading the way. It comes from Will Laithwaite’s Loose Cannon brewery, which opened in 2011 and re-established three centuries of brewing tradition in Abingdon (which seemed lost forever when Morland closed its doors for the last time 11 years earlier). Gunner’s Gold is named in honour of local Abingdon hero and Lancaster bomber veteran Stan Bradford (the distinctive World War II aircraft is featured on the label). It’s a classic golden ale that’s best served gently chilled to fully appreciate its crisp hoppiness and refreshing citrus flavours. Medium strength and totally refreshing, there’s no better beer for an uplifting lunchtime glassful than Gunner’s Gold.

"Very nice ale. Very reasonably priced and not too hoppy. Just right to make you happy!" Online Review
