Enjoy here a "incredible" vintage Saint-Julien from an exemplary château. Until 2018 the estate was known as Lalande-Borie, a property only created in 1970 by Bruno Borie through the purchase of 18 hectares from Château Lagrange and another 12 from growers. The Borie family are owners too of a number of other prestigious Haut-Médoc properties, the most notable of which is Saint-Julien's Second Growth Château Ducru Beaucaillou. Le Petit Ducru comes from well-positioned vineyards close to Lagrange, Talbot and Gruaud Larose, all on fine gravel clay soils. Ageing in French oak barrels (30% new) lends a powerful layer of vanilla spice to the punchy, ripe fruit. Vinous called it "heady and alluring". An exceptional wine with delicious potential.
