Another stunning vintage has put big smiles on the faces of winemakers and growers alike all across the Loire Valley. Noël Bougrier, at his family estate, was certainly delighted, and the Chenin Blanc for this wine is outstanding. The grapes were taken from around the village of Saint Georges sur Cher, the Cher being a small tributary of the Loire. Lovely ripeness and intensity of candied citrus fruit, with a creamy roundness from a few months’ lees ageing. This wine is a joy to drink on its own and, golden hued, it’s a real glass of sunshine. Les Fiefs clearly shows that the Loire isn't just about top Sauvignon. In Anjou, Chenin Blanc is King. It’ll make a fine match with creamy chicken, pan-fried salmon or lightly spiced noodle stir-fry.

"Another star from the Bougriers! Enjoy this Chenin's appetisingly ripe, bright lemon and apple fruit" Jehan Sacaze
