Drouhin Laroze is one of Burgundy's most famous names, making wines that deserve a place in any Burgundy lover's cellar. The family estate was founded in 1850 by Jean Baptiste Laroze, in Gevrey Chambertin, using underground cellars dug out by Prussian soldiers in 1815. His granddaughter, Suzanne, married a Drouhin in 1919, so the property became Drouhin Laroze. Today the fifth generation, Philippe and Christine, is in charge, with the sixth generation already part of the team. They pride themselves on their vineyards, six superb Grands Crus and four Premiers Crus, as well as village plots and, for a few wines, grapes they source from trusted growers, with prime site vineyards. This is a top vintage Fixin. Open early and decant, or cellar.
