This wine takes its name from the lively Lagarto lizard often spotted in Chile’s Central Valley vineyards. It shoes how well Malbec grows on this sides of the Andes too! Cabernet provides herbal, ripe red fruit, softened by violet-scented Malbec.

‘El Valle Central’ is the beating heart of Chilean wine. This extensive region spreads almost 250 miles from Maipo Valley in the north, to Maule Valley in the south, taking in a great diversity of terroirs and climates. Yet all are blessed by the cooling Pacific Ocean breeze that helps keep the fruit flavours fresh. This lively red is a perfect balance of the ripe, herbal cassis notes of Cabernet Sauvignon with the dark, floral and blackberry hints of Malbec, taken from the more northerly area of Isla de Maipo. Bordered by the towering Andes, there's a cooling downdraught. No wonder Tim Atkin MW referred to this region as ‘the Bordeaux of South America’. This food friendly red is supple enough to enjoy solo, yet versatile with suppers.
