Lady Farrington Sauvignon Blanc 2020

Western Cape

South Africa has gained quite a reputation for its fresh, juicy whites made from Sauvignon Blanc. They tend to have a ripe, tropical edge, beautifully balance by citrusy zip. Lady Farrington is just the ticket for a refreshing, easy going glassful.

Lady Farrington is a wine that fully deserves its aristocratic title. It’s a bright, fresh Sauvignon Blanc – a grape that South Africa excels at. And the wine, using grapes from a specially selected vineyard, is all fruit and no oak. We love that freshness and exuberance of guava, cut grass and gooseberry, with a hint of peach and mango. It's a great all round white that’s perfect as an aperitif and just as good with creamy chicken or Thai green curry. Why the name? The estate belonged to Margaret Farrington, who took sole charge when her husband died in 1961. Through hard work she took it to such new heights that her peers bestowed her the title of ‘Lady Farrington’. This wine is for her – and everyone who loves great Cape whites.

"Lovely ripe fruit and freshness, with a touch of extra weight from lees ageing. Great SA white" Kirsten Willis
