The names ‘Moueix’ should quicken the pulse of any claret lover. Why? Since 1970, Christian Moueix has owned Château Pétrus, the estate that established Pomerol as one of Bordeaux’s elite appellations. The family has a number of estates there, as well as Bordeaux's other famous Right Bank region, Saint Emilion. J-P Moueix was founded by his father, Jean-Pierre, in 1937 and prides itself on its sophisticated, yet accessible range of clarets. This glorious 2016, selected for our Anniversary year, was overseen every step of the way by Christian Moueix himself. It is a polished and appealing Bordeaux style, now with three years age. From the excellent 2016 vintage, it makes superb drinking now. Decant and serve with tender roast lamb.
