Hush Heath Manor dates back to the 16th century, and since the 1980s has been the home of Richard and Leslie Balfour-Lynn. 16 of the estate’s 160 hectares have been planted with vines since 2002, and a winery was added in 2010. The vineyards are nurtured by a local viticulturalists the Turner family, firm believers in sustainability. They’ve planted hedgerows around each plot, which, combined with ancient oak woodlands, give Hush Heath its own microclimate, slightly warmer than the surrounding area – a big boon to ripening. Consultant winemaker is Owen Elias, six times ‘UK Winemaker of the Year’. Mostly Pinot Noir, Meunier and Chardonnay, this fine rosé is tasty with seafood, salads or vegetarian dishes, or on its own. Here in magnum size.
