Cabernet lovers, take note! A great new source for this great grape, with a spicy Spanish twist. It’s not native to the country, of course, yet Cabernet Sauvignon loves the warm climate and produces delicious, juicy, ripe flavour. The de Lluna vineyards, at 600 metres above sea level, lie 30 miles from Valencia (where city folk from Madrid flock to in summer for relaxation). Wine critic Stuart Piggott wrote enthusiastically: “Spain is determined to amaze the world with its new wines”, an opinion beautifully illustrated by this silky, scented, easy going and fruit filled Cabernet. Crafted by Maria Angeles Camara (the star winemaker behind our popular Palacio del Conde wines), it’s an ideal match with grilled meats and perfect at a barbecue.
