Founded in 1946, Domaine Ferraton has always been a highly regarded estate. Yet since the Chapoutiers have come on board quality has risen a big step higher. The Ferraton family started working with Michel Chapoutier in 1998, the latter buying the estate outright in 2004, but running it as an independent concern. The family is still very much at the helm with Damien Brisset as part of the ‘super team’ and the result is some really impressive wines. Add in the 5-Star quality of 2019 and grapes produced to the highest biodynamic standards, and you’ll understand the sumptuous richness and depth of the wine. Pure Syrah, part oak-aged, silky, dense and long. Certainly a red that will age well. Open early - ideal with lamb or a rich casserole.

"Aromatic fig, raspberry and spice nose, lots of pure juicy fruits. Firm tannins and a sleek core" Alastair Cooper MW
