Ferraton Père et Fils Hermitage Blanc Les Miaux 2018

Hermitage AOC

Superb 95-point white Hermitage 2018 – "the finest vintage to date" (Jeb Dunnock) – from a great estate. It was adopted by Chapoutier in 2004 and now has input from 5-Star winemaker Stéphane Ogier. A glorious pure Marsanne – exotic, luscious, long.

Founded in 1946, Domaine Ferraton has always been a highly regarded estate. Yet since the Chapoutiers have come on board quality has rocketed. The Ferraton family started working with Michel Chapoutier in 1998, the latter buying the estate outright in 2004, but running it very much as an independent concern, with the family still at the helm. Oenologist Damien Brisset and the renowned Stéphane Ogier are also part of the domaine’s ‘super team’: the result is some really impressive wines. Add in the 5-Star quality of the 2018 vintage and grapes produced to the highest biodynamic standards, and you’ll understand the sumptuous brilliance of this wine. Pure Marsanne from Les Dionnières vineyard, this is superb now, but will age magnificently.
