Chat with Vinny
We’ve fallen in love with this mellow Cognac from the team at Maison Ferrand. Distilled from lees aged Ugni Blanc sourced from Grande Champagne Premier Cru vineyards and partly aged in Sauternes casks, it has a most appealing underlying freshness.
Tasting notes
Mellow butterscotch and baked spice with a rounded, creamy finish
Aroma
Generous notes of plum and fig with notes of toffee and toast
Since Maison Ferrand was established, back in 1630, it has been tended by 10 generations of the Ferrand family. However, towards the end of the last century the stills were mothballed and production ceased. Until a young business school student, Alexandre Gabriel, chanced upon the cellar during a college assignment. He was blown away by the quality of their Cognac, the liquid treasures they had stored in their cavern-like vaults. Before long, Alexandre had formed a partnership with the family and began to revive the fortunes of this venerable Cognac house. Named to honour the 10 generations of the Ferrand family who managed the maison until the modern era, this Cognac has mellow, spiced, caramel flavours underpinned by a lovely freshness.
