Chat with Vinny
This crisp, racy Trebbiano is made from the fruit of organically grown 30 to 40 year old vines. Furthermore, it’s from the dynamic winemaking duo of Federica d’Amato and Pasquale Caldora, whose passion for the Abruzzo shines through in their wines.
Tasting notes
Crisp ripe citrus and apple fruit. Real intensity and poise
Aroma
Citrus and almond notes with floral hints
Stretching along Italy’s Adriatic coast, the Abruzzo boasts pretty coastal coves and dramatic landscapes of soaring mountain peaks, deep valleys and ancient castles. The region also offers deliciously approachable wines – the plump, creamy, plum filled Montepulciano based reds and the crisp, citrusy Trebbianos. This Trebbiano is a tingly fresh new addition to our list. It’s from the Farinelli estate, which promotes a traditional trellising system, ‘pergola abruzzese’. This ensures the grapes receive excellent exposure to the bright sunshine and so gain full ripeness. Taste for yourself with this lively white – brisk, lemony, with candied fruit and melon hints. It makes a fine apéritif and goes well with fish, chicken and creamy pasta.
