More information
If you love luxuriously rich white Burgundy but don’t want to pay a premium, this is an excellent choice. Founded as recently as 1986, Domaine des Deux Roches is one of the leading estates in the Mâconnais, a region renowned for “white Burgundy that’s not only good but affordable” (Joanna Simon). Jean-Luc Terrier and Christian Collovray own some of the area’s best vineyards, coupled with a modern winery to capture the essence of their fine terroir. Their Rives de Longsault vineyard has chalkier soils than many in Saint Véran, helping to produce particularly intense flavours. With gentle toasty oak in perfect harmony with the rich creamy apple fruit, this white Burgundy makes a superb partner for roast pork or chicken as well as fish dishes.
