Verdant, beautiful Gascony has long been famous for its fine Armagnac brandy. Now the region has a worldwide reputation for dazzling fresh whites as well, often using Sauvignon Blanc. The white grape of the moment loves the climate here – just taste the grassy fresh notes of this thrilling release. You could easily mistake it for the more famous wines of the Loire. It’s from a family estate founded in the 13th century – the medieval watch tower still stands proud high above the vineyards. Today the family have 60 hectares of vines growing a range of native and international white grapes. Cool fermented for extra freshess, this is a deliciously aromatic white, great anytime, particularly in the garden on a warm sunny day, with a light lunch.
