Chat with Vinny

Domaine Hudelot-Baillet Chambolle-Musigny Vieilles Vignes 2017

Chambolle-Musigny AOC

Rich, silky red Burgundy with grip from one of the most reliable villages of the Côte d’Or. As Hugh Johnson points out, “any Chambolle Musigny is likely to be very good” (World Atlas of Wine). Hudelot Baillet’s is "just delicious" (Neal Martin).

This lovely Burgundy comes from a highly respected domaine in Chambolle Musigny, one of the most respected villages in Burgundy. It’s crafted by Dominique Leguen, Joël Hudelot-Baillet’s son in law. In recent years the wines have really benefited from lower yields in the vineyards and a progressive management system to keep the soils alive and healthy to strengthen vines. The result is wines with "everything that I like about Burgundy" (critic Neal Martin). This charming 2017 has intense Pinot Noir fruit, enhanced by smoky oak aromas. It’s complex, soft and long on the palate. Open a couple of hours before serving so it opens out. Enjoy with grilled meats or, even better, with the famous specialities of Burgundy like coq au vin or snails!

"Really very fine, from a particularly accessible vintage. Impressive persistence" Jancis Robinson MW
