Vosne Romanée is the Côte de Nuits brightest star, producing some of the world's finest, most expensive Pinot Noir. They boast an extraordinary intensity of fruit, combining power with finesse. The Confuron family have been tending their tiny plots of vines for six generations. Just this village Vosne Romanée comprises fruit from 10 parcels of vines within the village, adding up to a mere 2.37 hectares! These are old vines, 30 to 70 years old, which adds to the concentration. Vines and their terroir are king here, and François Confuron works hard in the vineyard, then gently treats the wine in his small cellar. 18 months in small, part new oak gives this magnificent wine structure and a kiss of spice to balance the fruit and freshness.
