Domaine de Chevalier Blanc 2017

Pessac-Leognan AOC Grand Cru Classe

There’s a reason this Domaine de Chevalier Blanc has received a swathe of high scores: it’s simply glorious. Singing with melon and orchard fruits, all supported by a smoke and herbal structure, it’s a real highlight of the appellation in 2017.

This is a white with real personality that "really does punch at the top end of the appellation" (Jane Anson, Decanter.com). Thanks to careful crafting from the superb Domaine de Chevalier, who were well prepared for the touch of frost, their Blanc 2017 is a real treat. Intense white peach, nectarine and herb flavours run though the palate, with slatey edges and linear minerality on the finish. It's from a great vintage too, one in which dry white Bordeaux really shone. Indeed, according to Antonio Galloni this 2017 "has class to burn" (Vinous.com). It's a great wine, a star of the vintage, that will increase in complexity if left to age for at least a few years. We recommend enjoying this white with rich, cream- or butter-based dishes.
