Florent Rouve wasn't born into wine. His father was a geologist, so the family travelled a lot and only when he was 16, did they settle in the Jura. There he discovered beautiful woodland and decided this would be his career path. During his studies, he earned money in vineyards and so started a love of wine. He learnt with one of the greatest – Jean Rijckaert – and in 2013 Rouve took over management of Vins Rijckaert. He now runs tiny estates in both Burgundy and Jura, with his aim to express each grape’s unique character and individual terroir. Natural yeasts, minimal intervention, gentle handling – he his passionate. This is his fine Jura Chardonnay, bright, fresh with ripe stone fruits. Appetising solo or with sauced chicken or salmon.
