A rare, 94-point taste of a legendary Puglian speciality, Nero di Troia, a grape more often found in pricey DOC blends. It’s a dinner party showpiece in this mighty magnum size. Enjoy its sumptuous wild blackberry, violet and smoky vanilla character.

Nero di Troia is one of southern Italy’s most treasured red grapes, producing deeply coloured wines with impressive depth of spicy black fruit. It’s largely reserved for blending into the region’s top DOC wines, but was earmarked to appear solo in our Corsiero Nero by the great winemaker Mario Ercolino. Mario consults for a number of properties as well as making wine with his brother at a family estate in Campania. Nero di Troia is named after the town of Troia in northern Puglia, said to have been founded by Greek hero Diomedes after he helped to defeat the city of Troy with his Trojan Horse. Legend aside, this is a dark hued wine with oodles of character that will go well with roast pork, lamb hotpot or a robust tomatoey pasta dish.
