Collovray & Terrier Chardonnay 2017

Pays d'Oc IGP

Burgundian finesse, Chablis’ mineral freshness and superb value – this superb Chardonnay has it all. It’s from Burgundy-born friends Christian Collovray and Jean-Luc Terrier, who bought an estate in Pouilly Fuissé, then did the same in the Pyrenees.

Brought up in beautiful Mâconnais, Christian Collovray and Jean-Luc Terrier are childhood friends and now brothers-in-law, too. In 1986 they bought an estate there and impressed the world’s critics and consumers with their superb wines. In 1997 they did the same in the Haute Vallée de l’Aude, high in the Pyrenees and one of the Languedoc’s best regions. Here the terroir makes for a fresh Chardonnay, while the Burgundian expertise of the fourth generation winemakers ensures elegance and finesse. The elevation of the vineyard (530 metres) is key. The grapes are bathed in sunshine by day, yet cold nights help to preserve Chardonnay’s fresh, stone fruit character. This fine citrus peach white is ideal with salmon en croûte or chicken.
