Chianti is one of Italy’s great classic reds, while Riserva denotes a superior wine with ageing. This Gold medal 2018 is from a family estate we've worked with for 30 years. From Tuscany's highly regarded Rufina area, this is long, complex and silky.

Paolo Masi is a gifted winemaker who has been delighting fans with his well priced, handcrafted Tuscan reds for nearly 30 years. His flagship Chianti Riserva is a notch above most others thanks to his meticulous methods and the position of this estate. Founded in 1900, the Masi property lies high on a hill, overlooking the Argomenna valley. It lies in Rufina, described by Wine Enthusiast as "one of the most quality driven zones", and comprises 45 hectares of vines, plus olive groves and swathes of woodland. Paolo took over the estate from his father in 1993 and has worked hard to modernise and improve both the vineyards and the cellar. Aged in oak barrels for 14 months, this Gold medal 2018 Riserva is a silky, rich and complex Chianti.
