When Australia’s top cellars need fast, upfront cash they come to our man on the ground Dan Parrott. The soul of discretion, Dan will keep their name a secret in exchange for a low price on a cracking wine. Certainly true of this dense, spicy Shiraz.

Here’s the perfect wine for anyone who adores premium Aussie Shiraz AND a decent bargain. It’s from a leading cellar within the Limestone Coast, a region that’s home to some exciting boutique cellars making great wines like this. The area encompasses the great appellations of Coonawarra and Padthaway amongst others, renowned for their hallowed red soils and idyllic ocean cooled climate that produces elegant wines with plenty of depth and power. This hush hush deal cleanskin came about thanks to a cancelled order, leaving the cellar strapped for space and with vintage approaching. Delighted to help, our buyer snapped it up. A terrific, well priced Shiraz, delicious now and with the structure to age. Ideally decant early. A great steak red.
