Citadelle ‘Gin de France’ was conceived during a lazy summer lunch on the terrace of the château. The brief was simple: create summer in a glass. Completing the task proved to be a real labour of love, a by-product of which is their patented Progressive Infusion Process. In order to achieve the gin’s aromatic balance, each of its 19 aromatics is soaked in alcohol. The length of the infusion and the degree of alcohol in the infusion varies, depending on the aromatic function of the botanical. It takes three to four days to combine the infusions, which are carefully added, one at a time, until the blend is complete. It’s time well spent as they really have captured summer in a glass. Makes a classic gin and tonic, or the perfect gin martini.
