If you were a wine enthusiast around the turn of the century, you’ll remember the buzz surrounding the 2000 vintage. Hopes were raised when near perfect conditions in late summer delivered a ripe, concentrated harvest. Then, during en primeur week the following March, the world’s wine press declared 2000 to be “the greatest modern vintage in Bordeaux” (Wine Spectator) and a “phenomenal year” (Robert Parker) and the rest is history. Prices soared, and today it’s near impossible to find a good value 2000, making this perfectly aged Fronsac a remarkable find. Silky with the benchmark concentration of the vintage, it offers dark, evolved fruit, mature leather and spicy earth notes with well integrated tannins. Drink alongside roast beef.

"A mature claret with spicy earthy notes, just as you'd expect from 17 years ageing in a top vintage" Jean-Marc Sauboua
