Chat with Vinny
La Conseillante is always majestic and memorable, yet the 96 point 2009 takes luxury higher with its exquisite balance, richness and intensity. A magnificent Pomerol with instant appeal thanks to its luscious fruit, yet with great ageing potential.

More information
With some of the best terroir in Pomerol, La Conseillante is consistently among the top two or three wines of the appellation. However the 2009 is really something special. Wine Advocate calls it “a version of the 2000 on steroids [with] an extra kick and level of concentration”, no doubt due to more severe selection and the production of a second wine. The château has belonged to the Nicolas family since 1871. Today brothers Bertrand and Jean-Valmy Nicolas are in charge, with Michel Rolland as consultant. Aged for 18 months in oak, the 2009 has gorgeous aromas of violets, liquorice and truffle mingling with red berry fruit, and, above all, outstanding harmony and finesse. It is pure silk, with extraordinary length. It will age for decades.
