More information
It is difficult to overstate the standing of Prof Denis Dubourdieu, not just in Bordeaux but internationally. Owner and winemaker of several Bordeaux properties until his untimely passing in 2016, including the historic Château Haura, Dubourdieu was also one of the most sought after winemaking consultants in France. Haura’s vineyards lie on two gravel outcrops on the outskirts of Bordeaux’s southern suburbs. Their exceptional drainage ensures grape maturity and intensity every year, while the vines are grown organically and manually harvested. Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot create a wine with classic ‘Left Bank’ character, namely fresh tannins and silken textures. Ready to be enjoyed upon release, the supple 2014 is best with lamb or duck.
