Established in the 1800s, this top Barsac estate has been in the Dubourdieu family since 1924. It only had 4 hectares of vines then, but gradually, over the years, the family have bought more top sites. Denis Dubourdieu took over in 2000, the third generation of his family. Until his passing in 2016, he was regarded as one of Bordeaux's finest, most innovative winemakers. He was consultant for many top properties – 85 different estates at one point, including Châteaux d'Yquem and Margaux. White wines were his greatest passion – both dry and sweet. This gorgeous sweet wine is Sémillon focused, the tiny noble rot grapes picked individually. Matured in 65% new oak for 10 months, the wine is hugely complex and layered. Gorgeous now or cellar.

"A wealth of rich, ripe apricots and sweetly fragrant peaches here, as well as a gently tropical edge" James Suckling
