Château Bellefont-Belcier is a Grand Cru Classé Saint-Émilion and with Michel Rolland as consultant, you can be certain of a fine, sumptuous wine. Its name is a tribute to the many natural springs near to the château (belle fontaine) and to its founder, Count Louis François de Belcier. Ideally situated on the southern slopes, it's just a stone's throw from the prestigious vineyards of Châteaux Pavie, Larcis Ducasse and Château Tertre Roteboeuf. In this enviable position, Bellefont Belcier produces seriously intense wines, with superb balance, depth and longevity. For drinking now, open early and decant. It is only just beginning to open out. Best paired with classic red meat dishes or with a rich vegetarian casserole, gentle on the spices.
