Veuve Clicquot is one of the most famous names in Champagne. Madame Clicquot, who took over the estate in 1805, was a great pioneer. She created the first crystal clear Champagne after inventing the technique of riddling – using a specialised rack to enable the yeast to be collected in the neck of the bottle. She was also the first to make a Vintage Champagne. It was under her guidance that Veuve Clicquot became the substantial and respected Champagne house we love today. Yellow Label is consistently fine, rich and complex, no doubt due to its year in old oak barrels and three years on lees in bottle. In addition, the wine contains a mighty 40% of reserve wine, dating back to 1988. Presented in a gift box, with a lovely poster to colour in.
