This superb white scored 92 points from critic Tim Atkin. He also rated this leading South African estate as 'First Growth'. Its high altitude and granite-rich soils make for this mineral fresh wine, luxuriously aged in oak for smoky complexity.

Chamonix is a leading South African winery, known for pure, expressive wines. Critic Tim Atkin awarded the estate his highest accolade - 1st Growth Status. It has many more accolades besides. Boasting some of the highest vineyards in the Cape, their vines perch on the eastern slopes of Franschhoek mountains – soaking in sunlight whilst catching the cooling breeze. Their head winemaker, the renowned Neil Bruwer, has crafted an elegant Sauvignon-Semillon. 2018 was an exceptional vintage, producing low-yield, intensely flavoured grapes. Neil matured the wine in French oak barrels, just 10% new, for 11 months, to add a lovely smoky complexity to the bright, tropical fruit. An exceptional white - chill down gently. Excellent with white meats.
