Since purchasing Château Les Grands Maréchaux, the current owners have been blessed with a run of spectacular vintages, including the one that created this claret. It bestowed winemaker Stéphane Derenoncourt with perfectly ripe fruit on which to work his magic. Stéphane’s a legend in Bordeaux, having worked at many top Saint Emilion estates including La Mondotte, Canon La Gaffelière and Pavie Macquin. Such was the richness of the fruit in 2015, he matured the majority of the wine in new oak barrels, adding toasty layers of spicy complexity. A fine petit château claret from a celebrated vintage, Les Grands Maréchaux is tasty now, and will develop given time. Enjoy with a Sunday roast, venison casserole or fowl such as pheasant or partridge.
