Château de Dracy Bourgogne Rouge 2019

Bourgogne AOC

For over a century Maison Albert Bichot has been working with this tiny estate to produce first class Burgundy. From a vintage described as "charming, full of fruit yet with great energy" (jancisrobinson.com), this is a fine, silky, berry laden red.

The noble house of Albert Bichot has won much praise for its fine Burgundies – twice winning IWC's ‘Red Wine Maker of the Year’ (2017 and 2004) and the same for white wine in 2011, while Wine Advocate wrote “They are making extremely fine wines.” Rare for Burgundy, the wines also offer good value. Over a century ago, Bichot started working with Château de Dracy, a Côte de Beaune estate with history back to 1298. It was originally built as a military fortress by the Duke of Burgundy, while the winery and cellar were constructed in 1728. Selected Pinot Noir from various plots, carefully fermented with a portion oak aged, this is a fine, silky red. Ideally let it breathe for an hour, then enjoy with white meats or mushroom filled gougères.

"A superb vintage. Wines that all Burgundy lovers are going to want to secure for their cellars" William Kelley on 2019
