Founded by brothers Hubert and Didier Secret 25 years ago, Château La Chandellière in Bordeaux's Médoc is a relatively new estate with 28 hectares of vines planted. Even so, the property has already impressed the international wine buying public with its stylish wines. 2016 was "excellent producing some stunning wines particularly in the Medoc" in which Cabernet Sauvignon vines produced grapes of optimum ripeness. Made from 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, the star grape of the vintage, 30% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Franc, aged part in new oak barrels, this wine shows great depth of herbal Cabernet fruit with a hint of fresh coffee. Full, rounded and creamy, supported by good tannins and a long finish, this is a classic partner for lamb or beef.
