More information
Crafted from ‘free run’ (rather than pressed) juice, Brightwater Sauvignon is especially lively and pure. It’s from Gary and Valley Neale and their boutique winery in ultra sunny Nelson, just along the coast from Marlborough. They started out in 1992, growing grapes for other wineries, producing their first wine in 1999. Their success has been phenomenal, every year winning many Golds. In 2012 at the Royal Easter Show they were awarded Champion Wine of the Show for their top Chardonnay, and their winemaker Tony Southgate was named Winemaker of the Year. Headed by the Neales, this small, close knit team produces terrific wines. Output is tiny, too, with intense flavour thanks to hours of sunshine. Delightful on its own; ideal with seafood.
