Bodegas Caro Aruma Malbec 2018

Mendoza

Argentine Malbec tends to be velvet smooth and deeply fruity with violet spice, but 93-point Aruma has even more to offer. This award winning red combines the expertise of Bordeaux’s Barons de Rothschild (Lafite) and world renowned Nicolás Catena.

Aruma Malbec 2018 is an exceptionally rich and impressive wine. It brings together small batches of wine from tiny parcels of premium Ucó Valley grapes to create an luscious and complex blend. In doing so it symbolises the union between its co-creators, ‘Decanter Man of the Year’ Nicolás Catena, whose wines are “beacons for quality in Argentina” (Steven Spurrier), and the Rothschilds of Bordeaux, “synonymous with wealth, prestige, history, respect and remarkable wines” (Robert Parker). Hand harvested, high grown, old vine grapes provide the wine’s outstanding fruit quality, while absence of any oak ageing ensures the wine shows pure fruit and Ucó terroir. Decant and serve with a tender rib-eye steak, venison perhaps or a warming spicy bake.

"Smoke, black-tea and dark-berry aromas and flavors are really impressive. Hints of coffee. Full body" James Suckling
