This luxurious rich red from 2015 uses a high proportion of Argentina’s speciality grape Malbec, with ‘King of the Médoc’ Cabernet Sauvignon playing a more minor role. New oak (just 60%) is less dominant too, and Wine Advocate’s Luis Gutiérrez described it his “favourite vintage so far”. Truly a New World masterpiece, it’s a collaboration between Nicolás Catena, whose family have been creating wine in Mendoza for three generations, and Domaines Barons de Rothschild, whose Château Lafite Rothschild is regarded as Bordeaux’s “First Growth of First Growths” (Clive Coates MW). Matured for 18 months in barrels made by Lafite, this powerful red has structure, elegance and depth. Be sure to decant two hours before serving. A top red meat red!

"Always an elegant and classical blend but now with an extra dimension of freshness" Luis Guttiérez
