Talented winemaker Benjamin Leroux first made his name at the renowned Domaine Comte Armand, but his dream was to get back to his roots and make his own wines from vine to bottle. He’s now done just that, with a cellar of his own and a spread of 30 wines ranging from Village Cru to Grand Cru. He has a few of his own vineyards and augments these with fruit from other top quality growers. Vosne Romanée is the smallest commune of the Côte de Nuits, yet remarkably it can boast eight Grands Crus. The wines are never cheap, but they have outstanding power, structure and finesse. Enjoy this well-priced village Vosne from a hot-ticket winemaker and from a complicated vintage that fared very well in Vosne (others were wiped out by frost). A keeper.
