Port is a wine fortified by adding brandy during fermentation in order to stop the process and leave some sweet, unfermented grapes sugars in the wine. Port is produced exclusively in the Douro, in north Portugal, and it can be divided into three distinct categories: white, tawny and ruby with variations of style within each. The Book of Port comes from Barão de Vilar, established in 1715 and owned by the three Van Zeller cousins, Alvaro, Cristiano and Fernando, who've long been luminaries of the port business.
