Anarquista is monster flavour in a velvet glove – handpicked Garnacha from vines up to 120 years old. It comes from Calatayud, the highest region in Aragón. Summer days are hot but at 900 metres it gets chilly at night. Garnacha vines love it and respond with extra fruity, super charged grapes. Not many though (it’s awfully dry). Yields are around 20hl/ha – that’s tiny. Winemaker and Master of Wine Norrel Robertson is one of Spain’s most acclaimed Garnacha experts and has made wine all over the world. 15 years ago he settled in Calatayud and started buying up plots of old vines along a horseshoe shaped ridge. Most of the grapes go into his £40 a bottle boutique reds. In 2016, he hived off a little and made Anarquista exclusively for us.

"Anarquista is a fruit bomb in a bottle. So much flavour. Sweet red fruit laced with spice and pepper" Beth Willard
